Welome Back

Hello All!

Wow- December was a busy, fun month. It felt good to be home and spend time with my family. However, as soon as I got back to MSU I realized how much I actually missed walking around campus and seeing so any unique, new people from all over the globe. I think every student that goes to a large university experiences the same thing. The experience of sitting in a class room discussing environmental history with people from China, Australia, India, Colorado, and Michigan is something that really intrigues me. It gives me such confidence that no matter where this life goes in this world there is so many people who will always be willing to assist us.

Now, I am no way very knowledgable about the environment, let alone environmental history. But, this class is something that is filled with so much diversity that I find myself extremely intrigued in the subject due to the diversity of people, and ideas. I enjoy listening to new ideas and I think that is one of the most important things in obtaining an education. You discover not only the impact of fossil fuels, but also the impact of fossil fuels on someone who grew up in a completely different country with a completely different set of values and ethics. I am extremely grateful to go to school here and call myself a Spartan. These people that I find myself interacting with everyday who I may not have anything else in common with but the fact that they know how to react to, “Go Green!” Is something that makes such a large university feel so at home.

The opportunities that I have here are not limited to the classroom to any extent. They are opportunities that each day present themselves in so many unique ways. I wouldn’t trade the experiences I have had here, good and bad, for anything. I realize how much they are helping me grow and develop into the person that I am and going to be. I’ve realized how important it is to follow your heart and do what makes you happy, but always, ALWAYS work hard and put forth 100% into everything you do and a positive attitude can change your perspective on all things. Never give up on your dreams, never give up on the things you feel most passionate about.
